Question about shoes.....?

I know it sounds weird, but my mom get's annoyed because the kids (I have 6 silbings) leave there shoes around the house. Since her birthday is coming up, aside from her gift (a Tiffany necklace and braclet) my dad and I are coming up with some way to organize the shoes in this house. All the kids have:

(1) play sneakers

(1) sneakers

(3) flip-flops

(1) sandals

(1) crocs (used as water shoes)

(1) dress shoes

(1) black shoes (for school/winter)

(1) boots

(1) snow boots

My dad and I decided to buy this for the garage. That will hold everyones play sneakers and crocs.

Then were thinking of buying a rach to go in the walk-in coat closet upstairs. This is were we can keep the winter boots (we have the other winter coats, snow suits, etc. in there).

To be very honest with you, as a mom of four I do sympathize, but I would gladly appreciate anything that would alleviate the problem. Many times through trial and error annoying situations are resolved by something so simple as the items you've described above. I'm sure your mom will feel the same. Thank you so much on behalf of the mom's who appreciate all your efforts to please your mom.

Wow that's a lot of shoes!  11 pairs a person!  I would certainly be frustrated if my children had that many shoes and tended to leave them about the house.  My children each have 1 pair of tennis shoes and 1 pair of dress shoes, and when they get older (oldest is almost 7), we'll probably add a pair of snow boots.  My husband and I each have 3 or 4 pairs of shoes also.
