Question about subwoofers and wiring?

I currently have 2 10" Sony Xplods 1100 Watt MAX each with 300 watt RMS. I have a 2 channel 300 Watts amp. There is 8 gauge wire I guess running to the power source and there is 16 gauge running from the amp to the subs. If I got two 12" kicker compvrs with a 2000 amp, could i swap the amps and the subs out without having to change any wires?

i don't think so, because 8 guage is to small of a wire for a 2000 watt amp. you'd have to change the wiring if your gonna put a 2000 watt amp.

It would work but i would recommend getting bigger wire. It will sound a whole lot better.
