When you record a show on tivo does it have to be on that channel at the time of the show or can you watch something different and still record the other show?

If you have a dual tuner Tivo you can record that show and watch something else. If you don't, then it has to be on that channel.

Hi mason h,

I split my cable and feed it into my TiVo and my TV both. With my Two Tuner TiVo I can record two TiVo programs and watch a third live TV show at the same time.

I can also watch one recorded TiVo show while I record another show on TiVo.
