if humans evolved from apes then why isn't there a species in between the two?

Creationinsts are a mimic species. They mimic human so well that they pass off as people. In reality they are the missing link.

There are so many that it is hard to tell which were our ancestors.  We didn't evolve from the apes that live today.  That is a misunderstanding due to the limited scientific vocabularies of people who don't understand evolution.

There were! There were tons of them! Of course they're all extinct now.

We didn't evolve from the modern day apes you see today. They are our cousins, not our progenitors. Chimps, gorillas, and orangutans have been evolving alongside us since the splits in lineages.

However, we find their skeletons ALL THE TIME.

The premise of the question is wrong.  Humans did not evolve from apes, apes and humans share ancestors.  Therefore there is not a species between the two.

Each went their own way.  Or, to put it more explicitly, there have been a number of splits in lineage containing apes and humans in the 15-odd million years:

One split separated the lineage leading to today's "lesser apes" (gibbons, etc.) from the lineage leading to today's "Great apes".

One split separated the lineage leading to today's orangutans from the lineage leading to today's African "Great Apes"

Another split separated the lineage leading to today's Gorillas from the lineage leading to today's Chimpanzees and Humans.

Finally, a further split separated the lineage leading to today's  Chimpanzees from the lineage leading to today's Humans.  (note here that some might add a further split between bonobos  and humans).

A final observation:  Our problem here is our lack of objectivity when we look at ourselves.  An Extra-Terrestrial Zoologist would say that all the above are apes.

No theory is perfect or can explain everything any more than creationists can come up with an intelligent explanation for the dinosaurs.

Oh, uh the devil put them there to test our faith, yeah right.

And anyway, evolution and creation can coexist, but it requires that both sides can accept that God created the universe and mankind, and that science and evolutionary theory is merely man's attempts to understand the creative processes of the master creator.

Even the big bang theory could have been the beginning when God raised his finger and said 'let there be light' and there it was. Even the dinosaurs could have been God's first experiment before he created mankind.

But no, what creationist could be so humble as to accept that we great humans weren't God's first and only project. Or what creationist could humble himself to the point of believing that God could have created the world and the dinosaurs, but that we gradually over millions of years  (just days to God) could have evolved from lowly apes, or slithered out of the sea like a politician out of a scandal.

After all we are the center of the universe are we not?

And creationists in their divine ignorance believe that it is against God's wishes to seek to understand God's secrets and therefore like everything else, a sin.

It's much more practical to preach about the light but keep people in the dark.
