Question on Buenos Aires?

I have 10 or so hours to fill whilst I'm in transit waiting for another flight to Brazil. Is it worthwhile going into the city for a few hours or is there enough activity @ the airport??

Is Buenos Aires safe, what is the best mode of transport to get from the airport to the city and back again??

  1. I spent last summer in Buenos Aires and never felt the least bit unsafe, and I was a 15 year old tall blond girl......

There really isn't much to do at the airport, so I would store my bags there and take a pre-paid taxi into town. There's a different name for what they are called that I'm blanking on now, but basically it's a taxi service where you find out the price and pay it in advance, so there are no surprises if you get stuck in traffic.

I would go to lovely Recoleta and spend a few hours there, then take a taxi to Palermo Viejo and roam around the cobbled-stoned streets and check out the boutiques and a cafe. If you have the time, I'd go to the Botanical Gardens or MALBA, the awesome museum. Just allow enough time for the taxi back.

Taxis aren't very expensive there, and it will be your best transportation option when you have such limited time.

Buenos Aires is my fav city on the planet. I hope you have a lovely, if brief, visit there.
