  1. yes it is supposed to be a learning experience, because you need to be able to ride different horses and you are learning to handle a problem horse plus if she put you on him then she obviously thinks your a good enough rider to handle him.

  2. it's a day later and you are still talking about it.....it was the best thing

that could have happen. million dollar question?...will you return for

more lessons.....good luck and good riding.

  3. that is a learning experience, in itself.. you are learning how to deal with a difficult animal, how to gain control and let the horse know who's in charged..... horses react to your body language, you'll learn to relax and not let the horse know you are freaked out by the horse's behavior, and therefore gain control.... consider it part of the lesson ..

  4. i agree with the previous answer.  It is a learning experience for both you and the horse.  Most horses, if allowed, will exhibit some sort of problem behavior.  School horses in particular do this since they have different riders.  Keep in mind that horses are very sensitive and can sense if you are afraid or not feeling confident.  I know that this is hard, but you have to act "as if" you are a great rider and totally confident.  Also, certain types of misbehavior can be fixed in certain ways.  For example, if a horse trys to pull his head down and pull you down along with him, your natural tendency would be to try to pull his head up.  But, you are never going to win this tug of war with a horse whose head may weight up to 600 pounds.  What you need to do is put your leg on him and he willl pick up his head and move forward.

But, every horse is different and you need to feel confident that you can deal with misbehavior.  That's part of learning to ride.

Finally, the lesson is for both you and the horse. If the instructor let you get off the horse when he started misbehaving, the horse would learn that he could do this in order to stop working.  Then the next person who rode him would end up with the same problem.

    Good Luck!
