Let me rephrase this…some people took it a little too personal…I have a judgement from 2004. What is the most they can do..can they garnish the wages and put a lien on my bank…?They will not work with me now that I can pay…do I have any other options or do I send money to them anyway

  1. If this were a "Legal" judgment, they would have started wage garnishment back in 2004.  If they have not yet obtained a "writ of garnishment" from your local court, then they have no judgment against you.

Some creditors are notorious for sending phony letters stating they are seeking or have a judgment against someone, all of which is illegal under the FDCPA.

Perhaps your state statute of limitations on the debt has passed and they can not legally obtain a judgment.  Some states even prohibit wage garnishment.  Check this web site to find your states SOL on debts
