Which is better?

AMD Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700

If the intel chip is better, is it worth spending the extra money?

i would say the q6700 its faster and has a 10x multiplier so if you plan on overclocking itll be easier but if you want to save money and dont plan on overclocking there isnt much difference of speeds so i owuld go with the x4 black cause its at 2.5ghz when the 6700 is at 2.66 there isnt really much difference in speed but you can overclock both so it doesnt really matter me im an intel guy but if i had an amd motherboard i would definatly get that cpu

They are both the same except the q6700 is 2.66Qhz, and the Phenom is 2.5. But, since the Phenom is the Black Edition, you could easily OC it to 2.8Ghz, no problem.

the quad....its a quad

but im sure this is for a custom motherboard, u can overclock both, but i would def quad if u have money like they say AM3 is looming, Intel is glooming

Its faster and runs cooler than AMD cores
