  1. It really actually doesnt matter. I dont own a horse yet, and my riding barn is not really grand/fancy. I not really into those barns with really nice stalls for the horses or the indoor/outdor arena. I know that it may seem that wealthy people go to grand/fancy barns but I dont care. It actually depends on how good the facility is, how they care for the horse, etc.

  2. I don't care if the barn is fancy or anything like that it just has to be clean and very safe for my horse !! :)

  3. I keep mine in our field, its a humble barn that has seen better days, but it doesnt matter how cheap they are as long as they keep them warm and out of the weather.

  4. I board at a very small place. It's a partial board facility. Only 2 1/2 acres & only one other horse. This is kind of a "temporary" place though. I need to move to a place with a riding arena and other horses for my guy to socialize with. I recently moved here to get away from the teenage drama at a previous barn. I really don't care about boarding at a fancy place, but then again I don't show anymore. As long as the place is clean, the staff is friendly and my horse is happy, so am I.

  5. those big grand fancy stables come at a price. and personally, why would i want to pay more to do the same thing i'd do every other day?

note: i live on a farm now anyway, we like to save money and do more then spend thousands on fancy stuff we could make ourselves.

would you want to spend tons of money to keep you're horse at a place, or would you rather get to show you're horse more, trail ride it/travel with it more, ect.?

  6. The horse doesn't care about grand and fancy! as long as it is taken care of fed on time turned out and plenty of water!

I'm at a normal barn I won't call it cheap because it's not but my mare is well  cared for when I can't be there and that is worth the price! the peace of mind knowing that she is turned out brought in and fed at regular times has a clean stall makes it all worth the price! If I could I would love to have her at home but at this point in my life  a boarding stable is very favorable and it's only a couple miles away from our house!

nope no fancy stuff for us we're happy where we're at!

We have a round pen, and a nice riding arena,  in the summer there is a misting system on all day and that is a must when the temps hit 105 - 110 plus! in the summer the horses are turned out for a few hours at night after the sun goes down!

  7. Who needs grand/fancy stables? I'd be more concerned with good care and proper facilities. I owned several horses and just want them to be cared for properly. I found that I tend to be better at it than have someone else do it. I'm not wealthy, But I think I did a better job. I seem to get along with the horse better also. It makes you closer!

  8. Me...I keep my horses at home, always have, and have never cared about the big fancy show stables.  Plus the politics that go on at every boarding facility..I don't know how people handle it...I am sooo greatful that I have never had to board my horse away from home.

  9. As long as you are not going to need an indoor area why should you care i board one of my horses for only 100$ a month and he is taken care of very well.

  10. My stables are possibly the furthest thing away from beign fancy as you can get.  My mare is at a caravan site! so she has ample grazing and shelter from the british weather.

The stables are fine they are simple and safe but very big i am surprised that she doesnt get lots in it! but i dont have a school to work in becasue i have no desire to have one.  The best thing for me is to have good grazing and good safe country lanes to hack out in.  My mare is completly happy and is safe.  So i wouldnt consider paying any more as i am happy where she is stabled.

  11. I'm at a (relatively) cheap livery year

Or course not, it doesn't matter! As longs as u have what u need there likea school or something.

Unless u are a top competition rider then these things don't matter

  12. I only use my horses for trail riding so I don't need anything fancy or special trainers.  I only pay $75 per month per horse plus the cost of hay.  There is plenty of pasture and about 40 acres of wooded area for me to ride in.  The folks I board with treat my horses like their own.  When one horse came down with ringbone, they babied her along until it became obvious that she was in too much pain and needed to be put down.  Then they made all the arrangements to have her buried in a beautiful spot on their property.  I doubt there are many fancy stables out there that would be that kind!!

  13. i board my horse at a 'fancy' stable u could say. its nice but i dont get the practice i need with my horse in their arena so im gonna board somewhere else. i dont care for a fancy stable. as long as they feed the rite amount, clean corals, keep water in the buckets, ect. stuff like that then im fine but i have to have a nice big arena to practice in.

  14. if i ahd a horse i wouldn't care, horses are expensive enough as it is, as longs as the place had a round pen, arena, and trails (they all dont have to be nice) then yeah and it would also have to be nearby

  15. me!

  16. i wouldn't care... but if i wanted to  compete then the barn would have to have some good trainers... which are usually found at the nicer fancier barns
