Questions about Krakow in Poland...?

Hello,

I'm going to Krakow at the beginning/middle of August and had a few questions

1) what will the temperature be like around that time?

2) how much money should I take for 5 days?

3) what are some of the must see sights in Krakow apart from the main square?

4) what is cheap to buy there and bring back to the UK? (apart from cigarettes)

5) how much would the average price of a carton of 200 cigarettes be over there?

Hi,

I'am not from Krakow, but I was there few times and for me this city is really magical. I hope You will like it too:)

1) usually August is the hotest month in the year, so I hope the weather will be lovely. about 25 C, beautiful sun and no rain!:)

I go to Poland (home+holiday) at the same time as You, so the weather must be lovely!:)

2) difficuld to say, I always take not enough:)

3) on the main square I like listen when the trumpeter play the "song" every 1 hour. it's very historical moment when You know the legend.

Royal Castle at Wawel - beautiful place, you can feel like a queen:)

Old streets of former separate Jewish City of Kazimierz, historical place, and not so old...You can feel there the terror of II World War...S.Spielberg made there the "Schindler's List"

when you are interested in the War, near the Krakow are few concentration camps. places impossible to describe...:(((

Salt - Pit of Wieliczka - is on the list of UNESCO

When You need a rest we like sit on the Vistula river (when is hot day obligatory with a cold polish beer:)

Evenigs of course pubs.

4) polish vodka:) I heard that people like our jewellery, but I think this question is more for UK people:)

5) I buy Marlboro for 30eur (other 20-35eur) but maybe someone will precise the price.

dental work and optics are cheep there.  If u go 2 Zakopane / Tatras mountains which you should, it will be colder there at night.  I heard it is rainy season in the summer in Poland.  Check weather.com

I'll just miss you in Krakow.  I will be on to Prague and Budapest by then

My mom brought back cool Amber silver earrings for me - but check guide to buying amber.  Also the nesting dolls were like $5 USD  But who knows how much they are now.

Money depends on your taste for accommodations.
