I am going to London in a few weeks with some friends. We are going for three days but my question is what options are availble for me? Is it worth getting an oyster card? How much would it be? Or are there any other options available?

  1. if your going for three days i think its pointless getting an oystercard.

im not sure you'll be able to get one if you're just visiting because in the forms you have to fill out you have to state your address. Oystercards are generally for people living in london, where as tourists would be better off with a one day travel card which is around £6.

  2. if you're only here for 3 days I doubt you would need an Oyster card ... I expect most of the places you would want to go would be in London Transport travel zones 1 and 2

the travelcard prices are on this page

as you can see there is a one day travelcard and a three day travelcard, but not a two day one ... I would suggest your best plan would be to do one of the open top bus tours on the first day so that you can have a quick overview of all the places but DON'T plan on getting off the bus much, just do all the different routes ... then on days two and three use public transport to go back to the ones you want to explore ... popular open top bus tours are ones like bigbustours.com and theoriginaltour.com
