Questions on kelp? (dosage, metabolism)?

how much is the ideal daily dosage of its supplement form??

does it really help in promoting healthy metabolism, and what time of the day should one take it- before or after meals?, to get started?

answers based from experience will really help, especially those who've taken kelp to help regulate their metabolism.

My sister's experience with kelp intake was to take 2 capsules before mealtime, usually dinner.  She didn't say that there was any specific time that it should be taken, but that she preferred before dinner.  She said that it seemed to improver her metabolism and helped her to lose weight, but she also used several other herbal supplements also.


  2. Kelp should not be taken in higher doses than the bottle lists (which is typically up to 6-700 mg daily at the most). There is enough Iodine in even a 5-600 mg dose that you should not take more than that dosage daily or you can severely damage your Thyroid (which is also a good reason not to eat too much salt daily, but the right amount is good).

    The Thyroid gland does affect how metabolism is affected, so if you take too much, your metabolism can drop and you won't be able to process energy as effectively. Your best bet is to get a bottle of Kelp and follow the directions on the bottle.
