  1. I played the ouija board a number of times years ago and nothing happened.  Nothing happened when my friends played it.  It does not give you bad luck for the rest of your life, since life is not about luck, and it does not haunt you.  There is no spirit telling you the answers.  Certainly try it if you are interested in it, but I found it incredibly boring.  Scrabble is much more exciting and interesting.

The ouija board is just a game that you can buy in most toy stores and department stores, an ordinary piece of wood or plastic or cardboard.  It is meant for two or more players so it will not work very well if you try to use it alone.  It has no supernatural powers.  It does not communicate with the dead and it does not contact spirits.  It does not open any portals to the underworld or to anywhere else.  The people using the ouija board make it work through ideomotor movement.  It plays on your mind and imagination and your susceptibilities and beliefs and fears.  It can be scary because the imagination is a powerful thing, and can make you believe just about anything.  Here are a couple of links that discuss ouija boards and how to use them.

  2. I used it one time and it's clearly a hoax. My friend is a hardcore ouija board 'believer' but the only way to make it 'work' is to physically, consciously move it yourself.  She's never been haunted or anything nor have I ever contacted spirits the one time I used it.

  3. I was the same once, thinking the board was real, and it was such a hoax! It never moved on its own, it doesn't haunt you, and if it does move, its because your own hands push it to move. I've only used it once, and it will be only used that once. Skip the board.
