No comments or opinions on Barbaro's birthday today.

Just surprised me;

Thought I might as well take in your comments and opinions myself.

I know there is not much today but, just thought I would put it out there if anybody wanted to say anything.

The Rail blog from the New York times had a nice post about Barbaro's birthday and his legacy.  I think it's wonderful that so many horses will be helped by what people are doing in Barbaro's name.

Geez, and I thought  Jan 1 was all thorougbred's official birthday.

I however think of Barbaro often.

He would have finished his third year of life as a race horse, and then we would not have heard of him again. Thoroughbreds should race more than one or two years.

Those are the kind of things I don't check. It's kind of more important to remember him for who he was, not when he was born.

And now, I shall go off and watch his races through the Derby. Thanks for the reminder.

And happy birthday Barbaro (if only he was still here, what he might have accomplished by now...)!

He would have been 5 years old now and yes I think of him everyday.He was a brave wonderful horse and I so wish that he was still with us and had never gotten hurt. Always remember Barbaro!!
