What's YOUR personal interpretation of the quote "Character is destiny"?

Who you are decides where you're going.  If you're of a bad character, you're going to eventually get into trouble or be trouble for everyone.  

If you are of a good character, then things will turn out well for you and for those around you.

At least, that's the theory behind the saying.

Character is essentially who you are. Your morals, beliefs, ideology, vices and virtues are all part of you character. With the mixtures your character is formed making you, and different aspects will change the outcome of your life, ie destiny.

For example, if your character is fueled by compassion for other people, and improvement of your surroundings chances are that ALL of your life decisions will be directed towards just that. I can't think of any one perfect example which embodies the aforementioned pieces of a character because there is no right or wrong example.
