R32 skyline vs new gsxr practicality?

Question

Alright well, title explains it all. Im either getting a skyline or a gixxer. I really want the skyline simply because its a great car, and its a truly unique car to have here in the states. Im worried though, that maintenance and repairs (since its such an old and rare car) is going to kill me in the long run. The bike is more dangerous, but is faster, way better mpg, and more mechanically reliable. Im not worried about weather with the bike because I have a Jeep. What would you guys do and why?

I can only speak for the car the Skyline was my dream car when the R32 model came out,and i was lucky enough to own an R32 a few years ago and was that impressed have since moved on to an R33 Spec 2 version and hopefully at next change up to an R34.

The Skylines are great cars and even if your going for a non turbo single turbo or twin turbo version non will see you wrong.

Check the car has had a regular service and all belts have been done if not on the belts knock the price down a bit.

Parts wise there are plenty of R32 R33 spec 1 in Canada now it has reached the import age.so parts are there easy enough also myself bought parts from Nissan which still stock down to R32 parts another factor is there are plenty of Skyline breakers worldwide whom will ship abroad myself had an item from the US which arrived within 3 days.

Also the Nissan 180sx s13 shares many parts with the R32.

Fuel wise if your getting the 2.0L version fuel again will be no biggy even with the single turbo version although turbo versions needs premium fuel.  

Maybe you answered your own question by saying how rare the Skyline is and the R32 models are getting old now,still great and head turning but still getting older and harder to get hold of as people are not selling and now holding on to them.

Ooh that is a tough one. Yeah the R32 is very good with performance and handling and will turn heads, but anything that powerful and a little old won't have the best reliability. Also since they are only sold in Japan, parts will be extremely expensive for it. It will definitely be a lot safer than the Motorcycle though. But with gas prices pretty high it would be a smart choice to buy the motorcycle, not a safe one though. If you crash or turn to sharply you better pray to God for your life. I would look for something else than those two.

if you already have a car, I'd take the bike but I'd probably get a cbr or r1 over a gixxer...where do you plan on finding an r32?
