Question:

RNC Where is the diversity?

This question may stir up a lot of anger...but I have been watching the RNC the past few days, & have really been wondering why there were so many older white people? I only saw about 3 people of any color in the whole center. Does anyone know why the color of the crowd was SO white & old? I don't see how that represents America, being that we are such a culturally diverse place.

I understand this may appear to be a stupid question & I am not trying to stir up any racial or political anger. I just want an explanation as to why. Thanks! I appreciate all answers & views. Your opinion is valued.

  1. There is a great deal of diversity in the Repugnant Party. There are old white people and young white people. There are fat white people and skinny white people. There are short white people and tall white people. And, there are rich white people and other rich white people. Why...the Repugnant Party has at least one of every kind of white people that there are. That's about all they're up for this year. Too much more inclusiveness and their pointy, li'l heads might explode.

  2. A couple of reasons.  Democrats promise minority handouts left and right.  If you ask the majority of black (pay attention to any that are interviewed) they will say "it would be great and historical to see a black man as president."  It would be historical, yes.  But great?  Only if that man were able to handle being the most powerful person on earth.  This statement is no different than a white person saying he's voting for McCain because he is white.  They are both racist votes.  Obama has shown that he won't take a stance on anything in the senate.  Why would he be anything different as a president?  Yet, because he is black and promising that me, as a white working person, will supply the money and taxes for those handouts.  As far as old.  Well, Obama's supporters are mostly young, who really have no experience with foreign affairs, have no idea how important it is.  Not just for our safety, but our economy is directly related to foreign policy.  And the young still live in the fantasy world that democrats preach.  That we can sit down with terrorists and dictators and talk and suddenly they will see flowers and rainbows and promise to be nice to the world and their own people.  They don't have enough experience to realize that with people like these leaders, Iran and others....it won't happen.  Never has, never will.  We need to wake up and live in the real world.  Older people that have been around for awhile realize this, they've lived it and seen it.  A perfect quote:

If you are 20 and NOT a liberal, you have no heart.  If you are 40 and ARE a liberal, you have no brain.  It's meant as a joke, but as most jokes, it rings true.

  3. Of the 2380 delegates at the 2008 Republican National Convention only 36 are African American.

Two-thirds of Americans are non-Hispanic whites, 12.4 percent are black and 14.8 percent are Hispanic, according to 2006 census numbers.

  4. you are absolutely right. i was wondering the same thing.

JOhn McCain does not represent me

  5. The reason is most Blacks are known democrats this is not new. There are black Republicans that believe you need to work to succeed in America and the Gov. is not your Piggy bank! They also have groups called Black Republicans of America! They have the same views of most working class people of America you work hard in America and you give to your country and not take!

  6. I actually saw quite a few blacks, hispanics, and a huge range of ages from 20's on up.  I don't know what RNC you're watching, but I have seen quite a bit of diversity.

Yes, the majority was definitely white people, but why wouldn't it be?  Over 70% of this country is white.  I'm guessing the proportion of whites at the DNC was well below 70% - did you post anything about that last week?

  7. Black leadership in the form of Jessee Jackson and company have worked to and been successful at getting the black community to vote as a block. There are few black Republicans but they are appreciated.  They represent strong souls.

It's unfortunate it is this way. Perhaps the racist clamor will die down in the black community and their political affiliations will become more diverse.

  8. This was apparent to me as well.

  9. The Democrats have promised handouts from the rich to every known minority group in America.

Basically, they have bribed 90% of minorites to their party.  It's the only way they have a base.

  10. Well, when you got 90% black people voting for the black guy, where do you expect them to be?

I saw a comparable (10%) of blacks there and plenty of young people. I watched it all evening, too. Not just a peek shot at it.

  11. probably because the smart colored people of this world will NOT vote for a republican again because of hurricane katrina...

it really made them realize how the republicans dont care for them, and this is true.

ALL THE RICH WHITE PEOPLE GO BECAUSE THE REPUBLICANS GIVE THEM MONEY & DON'T DO **** FOR THE POOR & NEEDY!

    OBAMA '08

  12.     Because this is a racially divided country. Get out of your car and ride public transportation and you will find out black people are voting for Obama because he is black. Then go to your neighborhood bar and and listen closely to your white friends for what they don't say. White folks won't say they won't vote for a black person because they are black, we have code words for that. Whereas I hear it everyday from black people they won't vote for "whitie" because there is a black person to vote for. This is only my opinion, but it is formed because I am white, I have black girlfriend, live in a city that has a large black population, and listen closely when riding public transportation. I wish this race truly wasn't about race, but sadly that is the way i perceive it.
