ROM status for dogs?

What does it mean when somebody states/claims that their APBT is ROM, or Champion/Grand Champion and they haven't been in any shows/competitions? Is it referring to them winning dog-fights? Or is it something else?

  1. well it used to be for dog fights but now a dog can get on the rom lits through weight pull hog doggen and other sports

if a pit bull was a ch or gr ch and if they perdouced a ch they would earn 1 point on the rom  list .right now jeep and he was a fighting dog, is at the top of the rom list with 19 points for males and his mother also a fighting dog  is at the top of the list for females but  for people back when it was leagle to fight dogs ,,,,and how you can tell even now if people are fighting dog ,you can go to pitbull sites and look at the prospects and studs and if it has a 1xw or 2xw beside its name thats how you can tell if people are fighting dogs ,,and even a lot of pitbull mags .like game dog journal  and pit past time list whos dogs are doing what in the usa but they code how things are said like for exp lovelaces ch stickem pulled her weight of 1200lbs and you could tell that she was condiontioned really well and hopefully that pull  doesnt go to her head ..,,,,,,,, to break it down he said that she won the fight in 1 hr 20 mins and had a lot of wind and was a head dog and they have to word it like that because weight pull is not against the law but rollen is ,but you would have to be into pit boxing to understand what they are saying, they have dictornarys that explain what certin things mean ,like catchen cajun is a good exp

  2. No it isn't referring to dog fighting.  It's a Register of Merit (ROM) title.  The dog must have earned certain titles.
