I remembered how to do it in class, but all of a sudden I'm just confusing myself.

ok, here it is: (radical of) 12x^4

would that be 2x(radical 3x^2) ?

I am just not getting the x really.

  1. just remember square root means two inside, come out as one.

    you've got √(2)(2)3)(xxxx)

    = 2x²√3

see, you can also think of √x^4 as √x²√x² = xx = x²

    that's it! ;)

  2. Wow, when I was in school we had to figure this stuff out for ourselves.
