  1. Go for a Profile Design fork. They make some pretty strong (and good looking)carbon fiber forks with aluminum steerer tube for less than $100. Make sure that you get one with a 1" steerer tube or it won't fit. Also, Cane Creek makes 1" threadless headset that will fit your frame. You will also need an adapter for your steerer tube that will convert it from a 1" to a 1 1/8" where it sticks out the top of your frame. The reason being is that you'll need a stem and stems are generally 1 1/8" diameter where they mount to the steerer tube of your fork. Consider new handlebars as well. The trend nowadays is toward oversized handlebars. These are generally 31.8 cm in diameter. However you can also purchase standard 26.0 and 25.4 cm as well. just make sure that the stem you purchase will fit whatevr bars you decide to use. My riding buddy just had his fork converted over last week to a carbon one with threadless headset. He paid around $200 for everything including labor at his LBS (local bike shop).

  2. You'll need a fork, a stem, AND a headset. For new average grade stuff you could estimate $100 plus labor.

  3. well depends on the brand of fork you want cuz so forks are way more expensive than others so if you just want a basic fork then  probably 45 -50 $ store bought on Craig's list or something you can get one 10 bucks
