Ran as administrater option in vista?

i just started my computer up today and it froze a few times and then finnally started up and now i got a few programs that have the windows safty shield on them and giving me an option to run a admin but i am the admin is there a virus or something what happend

  1. Trying to run anything in Vista with a safety shield icon it means you need administrator permission to run it. If you are the administrator, then just click the continue button. That includes things like those you normally put in the Run feature like regedit, msconfig,  compmgmt.msc, or services.msc (which don't show the shield icons where they normally are when prompted), but not stuff like dxdiag and calc


  2. No you don't have a virus. Vista does that. it's annoying i know. If you click yes and it still doesn't run try right clicking on the program you want to run (or the shortcut of it) and select run as admin. should work

    I have that problem with the game Mass Effect. normal clicking doesn't work, but when i do the right click thing it works just fine.
