Rat litter box thingy

well yeaa i know how ppl can teach their pet rats to go in the litter box...

well i wanna make one right now, but i dont hav money for the litter

but i also hav cats nd i was wondering if i can use cat litter..

nd if not, then shudd i jst use shredded paper or sumthin??

plzz help thxx =]

Cat litter is iffy. You cannot use scented or clumping cat litter, but if it's just plain cat litter it *may* be okay. You'd need to sift it, though, as cat litter is dusty and that can hurt your rat's lungs. Personally, I wouldn't want to use it. It's a risk.

Shredded paper is a better alternative.

Do NOT use cat litter. It contains a lot of chemicals that can be harmful to your rats, not to mention the dust issue!

Shredded paper is fine.
