Re-doing my room?

Question

I'm entering 9th grade this year and my parents said i could redo my room. Right now its tye-dye themed, and im really bored of it. I don't want to go with a huge theme cause they get real old quickly. I was thinking about maybe doing purple and black, but idk. If you have any ideas (not a lot of money either) then please share. Pictures would be fantastic!

go with a light shade for the main part then throw in hints of a bolder colour for detail.(like the door & window frames) use lively colours. you could make the wall at the head of your bed a feature, use textured paint or create a picture.

One of the easiest and cost-effective ways to redo a room is by painting. Just pick your favorite color or maybe a few colors. Wallpaper also works well. If you're looking for furniture and stuff, IKEA usually has some inexpensive items if you live near one of their stores. Also, people sell things really cheap on Craig's list. You can always get a new quilt or something for your bed, and rearrange existing furniture to give your room a new feel. Hope this helps!

Hi Breezy......If your room is big then you can put whatever color you want on the walls, but if you have a small room then you should put the lightest on the walls and/or ceiling.  The best and cheapest way to make paint color variations is to paint what you want the darkest color to be, and then add white paint to the original color......just make sure to have it mixed by the pro's at Home Depot or Lowe's (it's free).  Or, if you want a darker color, then add black to the origional.  As for deco. I would check out Walmart.com for some good deals...........Whatever web site you go to, just make sure that you look in the clearance area of the web site for the best deals..........even Macy's or Hot Topic........I hope this has been useful
