Question:

Re-registering a Canadian Warmblood?

I purchased a Canadian Warmblood gelding the summer who I haven't changed his registry to my name yet.

The website has proved unhelpful.

I would also like to know if it is possible to change his registry name, and if there are rules to how you name the horse.

And if anyone knows, does the Holsteiner registry take geldings?

If yes, how do you go about registering them?

:/

  1. Go to the registry website and get a phone number so you can call them and request a transer of ownership form.

Most registry's let you change the name of the horse for a fee.  The name you chose has to be available (no other horse in that registry has that name).  When you call them ask them if you can change the name and if so ask them for a name change form.

Not sure about the question about the holsteiner registry.
