Reasons For Gun Controll US?

I am doing a presentation on gun controll. We were given the for argument. I needs reasons for, or websites.

ps- please dont respond if all your going to ssay is "there are no good reasons" that doesn't help me.

Simply put the reasons for gun control is that politicians find it easier to legislate against an OBJECT than to legislate against criminal behavior. Plus those who actually want MORE gun control are those who also desire a totalitarian nation.

Fear.  Statistics show that many deaths are due to guns and people get afraid.  That's all I can tell you because I think a gun is a tool controlled by its user.

I don't believe in gun control persay, (granted I don't think we all need RPGs, lol)

But the argument I hear most often is that, it escalates violence.

If you have a gun you are more likely to use it when not necessary, or when you lose your temper. (because a person wouldnt stab somebody with a steak knife if they were that mad, lol)

Nobody should be allowed to own enough guns to arm their own army, that many guns just are not needed by an individual.

Mentally unstable people should not be allowed to own guns.

People convicted of violent crimes or crimes where a gun was involved(used to commit the crime or stolen) should not be allowed to own guns

People should not be allowed to own automatic weapons, those would only be needed in a war situation and if it got to the point that the USA was invaded, a single machine gun in your home isn't going to be of much resistance.

Thorough background checks can help keep guns out of the hands of people that shouldn't be in possession of guns.

Stopping the sale of guns at gun shows will go along way to stopping people that shouldn't have guns from getting guns.
