Recommend a Good Book??

Question

I have to do an assignment for LA. The assignment is to choose a Fiction Book. And after we read it we have to do a book report.

What I am looking here for is some books you may have read of heard that they were a good choice. I personal really only Like to read Animal Fiction and Historical Fiction.

I am only in 8th Grade and I just want to know some good choices for books this year because we are going to have to do more than one book report, I know that for sure:)

Journey by James Michener is good. Michener is an amazing historical fiction author, and Journey is one of his shorter works. I also recommend Watership Down by Richard Adams.

I would try Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. It is an awesome book. If you like it you can write book reports about the rest of the series Pretties, Specials, and Extras. It was an awsome book. An awsome series. Hope it helps.

Light In The Forrest is a good book. I can't remember the author, but it is a historical fiction book about a white boy who runs away and lives with the Indians then returns home.  Girls loved it when we read it in 8th grade.
