Recording over a beat

my frien loves to write raps,in my opinon and alot of people,he writs some good "depressing" stuff....now he's thinkin about buyin' a few good beats online...and writin' to it...what he wants to know is how to record over what does he need,he'll get the beats easy

Just some recording software like FL Studio. Open the beat as an audio clip and rip over it.
