  1. Here are a few sites that I really like...

  2. I was at this Eco-Leaugue Conference and I learnt how to make this reuseable book!

    Things Needed:

    -2 pieces of cardboard (5x7)

-25+ pieces of one side used pieces of paper

    -2 binder rings

It was made out of 2 pieces of cardboard  box(about 5x7) and many pieces of paper of recylce paper(cut in half).  They had been used on one side, but the other blank side is the writing side of the pages. You punch 2 holes along the side.  You have to buy 2 binder rings(from staples etc.) and you just ring the cover (1 piece of cardboard) and the pieces of paper then the last piece of cardboard as the backing.

The purpose of this craft is to use paper on both sides before it goes in the recycling.

  3. Collect lots of plastic shopping bags, cut loop strips join them together and  crochet a enviro-bag for shopping!

I've made pincushion  containers for crafts fair:

collect empty Tetley tea cylinder containers, glue gun wallpaper(get expired wallpaper books for free at paint/wallpaper stores) or fabric around the container (container to store button, safteypins, thread, etc., get stuffing and stuff the top lid (where needles go in) and cover and glue fabric for the top. Cut a round circle to fit underneath the lid, cover with fabric, glue to cover messy fabric, to look neat underneath the lid.  Add ribbon around the edges of tin.

I bought cheap threads/thimbles/needles/folding scissors and created mini sewing kits and sold them for 8 bucks each.

    Have fun.

There are a handful of Creative Reuse programs through the US - that "save" usable waste from entering the landfill, and use it for creative and environmental learning.  You can find some more info here:

    http://www.ciwmb.ca.gov/reuse/Links/Art....

Some of them have workshops or projects online.

  5. There's a board devoted to recycling crafts (both creating crafts from recycled materials and by recycling crafts into other items) at Craftster.org.
