Recycling advice?

i live in a small town...all we have is a gas station and a hardware store and i want to recycle but the nearest recycling plant is over 30 miles away would it be better to recycle or drive 30 miles cause while i'm driving i'm releasing harmful gases and hows that gonna help anything...plese help me

Call the recycling center and find out what it would take for them to place big steel truck style bins (like you see behind grocery stores) around town. In my community if the recycling center does that the cities will install directional street signs.

I'm sure there are others in your area that feel the same, in such a small community I'm sure most people know each other, speak up and see if you can find others to join your effort.

The easiest thing would be to combine recycling trips with any other trip you need to take to the other town.

You can also contact your waste management department and the recycle center and see if they have any porgrams available for your area. If there is any profit available they are likely to join in.

In this case i suggest you have to take initiative and talk to your town administration and the also the recycling center to provide place collection bins for items for recycling and they can collect them after every few days.

And you should advertise this facility to other people in your town so that they also seperate there recyclable items instead of throwing everything in garbage.

This will reduce the load on your town's garnage disposal system as well as encourage people in your town to recycle.

Bacause like you there may be many others who do not recycle even they want to, due to the inconvience!

You could see if anyone else wants to recycle and start up a group.  Then you could all gather up your recyclables together and take turns driving out the plant.  Save up until you have a large pile worth the trip.  The person who drives could keep the money to put towards their gas.  Or if you know someone who works out near the plant or is taking a trip there, ask them.  

You could also ask the owner of the hardware store to help you.  Ask him if you can place a recycling bin at the hardware store.  Then everyone in town can recycle.  Either the owner could go to the plant and keep the profit, or if they don't want to - you and others could do it.

you can ask your cuty if they can start a recycleing company closer to you, you can start a recycleing company yourself and help the envirement that way. or you can ask them to come and pick up your recycleing.

i myself would try to start a new one myself.

Maybe you should have a storage room and put all of your recyclables in there. After maybe two weeks or a month, depending on how long it takes the bins to fill up, take them all over the the recycling plant. That way you can take them all over in one load and you won't have to go as often. Good luck!

what I have seen is various civic groups use recycling to raise money - vol fire depts - churchs - boy-girl scouts.  If the town would donate the recycling bins maybe one of the groups would take it for action... or you could talk to one of the recycling companies to pick it up and offer it to them for free...an incentive for them to drive out and pick it up..
