i have a red spot on my eye. its like a big blotch. i think it is a popped blood vessel. i notice it on monday and it was pretty small...but by this morning (friday) it was covering the entire inside white part of my left eye. do popped blood vessels usually get bigger? my eye also feels a little bit of pressure. how long does it take to go away, and is it serious?

  1. that is something that needs to be looked at ASAP by an eye doctor, it could be nothing, but better safe than sorry.

  2. Yea, I think it could be a popped vessel (eye hemorrhage). Just to be sure you should get it checked out.

  3. Popped blood vessels usually resolve on their own in two or three weeks and don't pose any other health risks.  It's a good idea to see an optometrist, though, just to make sure there is no underlying, more serious problem.  I'd suggest getting it checked out just in case, especially since it seems to have gotten bigger.  Good luck to you.
