Redecoration Ideas!?!??

Question

so Im redecorating my room and theres like navy blue carpet that my dad wont let me change. what kind of modern look and colors can I work with that will make the blue carpet less noticeable and more modern?

leave the walls white. u can do some kind of design on it with the color matching the rug. but not to much. furniture should be a dark wood, or just normal wood, with a cherry wood finish on it. u can also use metal furniture . but the metals should be in the charcoal grey or light black range. u can also have a low bed, with white sheets and a navy blue  comforter top. or, u can have zebra print on the walls, and make ur room full of blacks whites and navys. lots of options depending on what u want.

it would look cool if you had white walls and stenciled on some like flowers, stars, music notes, or something in different shades of blue all over the walls. this would look especially cool with black furnature. try finding bedding that has a lot of shades of blue in it too, or just black. black zebra stripes might look really cool actually.
