Reformating (windows xp)?

I read

But I have no idea what kind of disc it is talking about... Help?

  1. The Windows XP CD?

    If you installed XP after you bought the computer, it is that disc.

    If you bought the computer with Windows XP preinstalled then it might have come with a copy, but is more likely to have come with a rescue disk instead.


  2. Why do you want to reformat your hard drive?  You'll have to re-install all your programs etc - big job if you didn't know the answer to this question.  And you'll lose all your files.  Make copies before you reformat.

    It is the Windows XP disk (operating system installation disk) as the other people have said.
