Question:

Refridgeration Problems....?

I have a fridge that is only about 2 years old. My freezer freezes just fine, but the bottom part only stays "cool", even when I turn it as high as it goes. Sometimes it doesn't get cold enough and water drips from the inside. I noticed the other day that water was leaking from the bottom as if it was defrosting. Can anyone seriously help by telling me what it could be. Is this a major costly fixing??

  1. yeah yeah

    its a 2 y/o what ???

  2. Check to see if the fan in the freezer is working. If the fan is not working the fridge will not get enough cold air to keep it cold.

There may be a problem with the defrost circuit.

If the freezer does not defrost there will be an ice build up on the evaporator and it will block the air flow.

Can you supply the model number of your fridge.

  3. There are 4 probable cause,            Parts and Service charge

    1. Thermodisc   ........................................... P800

    2. Defrost timer ........................................... P1,200

    3. Defrost heater ........................................... P 2,000

    4. Fan blower ........................................... 1,500

To be sure if theres really something wrong with your fridge before calling a repairman try to shut down the unit for 48 hours. I have encountered a rare problem same as yours and i checked the 4 probable cause that i've mentioned and found none of them were deffective so i advised the owner to defrost it for 2 days and now its more than 6 months ago and the fridge is working fine.

  4. there is a pan under your fridge that fills up with water from condensation from the inside of your fridge. empty this pan. another thing could be your fridge is out of freon. if pan emptying doesn't work have a repair guy check it out.
