Refrigerator / freezer intermittent cooling...

Question

Both refig. and freezer sporatic cooling problem Temp fine for a couple days then thaws. service tech changed defoster timer. didn't help. Now says they will have to wait til refrig. totally breaks down instead of guessing on problem. meantime i can't trust any food to be safe temp to eat.
