Regarding showing pigs?

I have son that would like to start showing a pig. I am not sure what we need to get. I don't want to spend a lot of money on a pig because I am not sure if my son in stay with it. We just want to do it for the fun. I don't want to start wanting for money, we want to keep it just for fun.

okay you will need a show whip two preferably in the beginning  are you working with a group at a local barn or at home? if at home you will need a scale to weigh them  then you will need a feeder. you will need to buy soap and a brush later on in the year you may have to buy a heat lamp if you have any more questions email me.

Well we have a livestock show were you raise the animal and sell it to the highest bidder or bidders.. this would be spending money on a pen and the feed plus the cost of your animal... In the end you show in you weight rang ( your animal must weight between certain # of lbs) you only raise these animals for a short period of time... Then when u sell the animal you will receive a check within a month or two for the total amount ( final bid ($) per lbs)
