Relocating?

Question

I am studying to be a teacher and after i have qualified i am hoping to move to ireland, i currently live in the UK and want to know what is the best way to go about it, do i live here whilst looking for a job there? Do i just book a flight and worry about it when i get there? Do i find a house first then a job? And what problems may i have with taking my pet dog with me?

I suggest you find a job first before relocating totally. Probably not  a great idea to get yourself a house before you know you have got some kind of income.

There are no problems travelling over with your pooch.

Ireland isn't cheap y'know - specially Dublin - be prepared for some hefty rents.

oh i suggest u definatley plan ahead since u have a dog......actually plan plan plan, since u seem to have some time until u get qualified why are u thinking about waiting til the last minute to do these things....get yourself in gear and sorted then u will have less to stress about when u get here......slan and wish u all the luck

Theres loads a jobs over here but if you want the one you want, if that makes sense, you can google some recruitment agencies before hand, explain your situation etc ...I would look for job before house btw rent and house prices are extorenant over here, so you don't get a nasty shock when-if you arrive!!

Not sure on the dog thing...don't think there's any problem with bringing pets back and forward but again google it just in case!!

hi - i assume its secondary school teaching as you need to be fluent in irish to primary school teach in ireland- i guess decide where you want to live first- then start applying for jobs-  try teachingjobs.ie - and look for accommodation- bringing your dog wont be a problem- no quarantine for animals coming from uk- good luck hope it goes great for you :)

Why are you asking those questions on Y!A ???  These are big decisions!!   Maybe grow up, and make the decision all by your lonesome instead of asking people to make them for you!!!
