Ok so heres the deal...im 18 and my parents dont take care of the house. My bathroom stinks pretty badly because we have old wood underneath the bathtub which is oldfashion...and i think its nailed to the floor...and it weighs a ton. The walls need painting, the floors need to be redone with tile...or lanolium....the tub is hopeless, but needs new pipes i think...i need a new sink because the old one is falling apart. shockingly my mother is looking for a new sink to put in...but i need some advice on the rest. Like i said im 18 and have never remodeled anything in my life. I need some tips.

  1. Good storage is key to any orderly bathroom decorating ideas; that makes the time you spend there more relaxing. Since bathrooms are design for grooming, mirrors and lights are essential to its function.

  2. If you feel like you have the proper tools and are handy enough to do it, then go for it. Just make sure you do all of your research. Go to Home Depot and get a book. And maybe find a local contractor who can give you some advice for a few bucks. Here are some design tips, good luck!

  3. If you are 18 you should be looking at finding your own place not trying to take your parent's lack of interest in home maintenance into play.  It's not your deal to change your parents bad habits.  Find your own place and move on.
