Removals from UK to Italy?

What's the cheapest and best removal company to hire when moving from London to Northern Italy?

This will depend on what sort of service you require and how much you have to move.

Some firms will pack and box everything,others will expect you to pack all your things yourself.

You can arrange for a dedicated van or a lorry or send groupage.

There is a UK firm that is not a removals company but which transports items from Italy to the UK and returns empty. They can accept occasional loads from the UK - I don't have further details. They're considerable cheaper than any quotation you will receive from Pickfords or the like.

The international removals network UTS move people all around europe. In the UK the company is UTS Pearson. Don't worry about their north east base, they are all over the shop. If you're lucky they'll move you to Italy to coincide with an Italian family moving to the UK on the way back - the crews go on 10 day "tours", so for example we had a dutch crew move us from Germany to the UK, because they moved a Dutch family from Holland to Germany close to our town, then moved us to the UK and finally took a UK family over to Holland, and landed back at their base.  I don't know about "cheap" but the service was excellent - all prepacking loading unloading etc and no damage. This kind of "tour" service is cheaper than a one-off move if the timings coincide. As they are so widespread it's got a good chance of being possible.
