What would a patron of arts from Florence,Italy in 1550 have to say ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF ART AND LITERATURE TO A Culture? Plz i need help!! I will give best answer 10 points

Art and literature were very important at this time.

They showed your education and reflected how well travelled you were.

Statesmen and landowners (the Rich) needed to feel as though they were doing the best for their people, the church approved of this kind of philanthropy and keeping on the churches good side was as important if not more important than keeping your tenants on side.  One way they could do this was to pay for an artist to paint an altar piece that was a gift to the church and would show how wealthy and religios they were, or fund hospitals etc.

The artists themselves wanted to raise their own profiles and status so it did them no harm either.

they woudl proudly support it. that was what the medici family was. they would be all for it..

patron= a citizen who would support human arts
