Renters insurance in New York?

Anyone who lives in New York State feel renter's insurance is a good idea.?I was told I could get a rate of under $100.00 for the year. What company do you have and what rate are you paying?

Renter's insurance is a GREAT idea regardless of where you live.  Suppose the owners of your rental tick someone off enough to burn the place down, or a theft ring breaks into your and other apartments.  Your apartment complex does not pay for loss to your personal items.  Renter's insurance is where you would go to get this paid for.

As far as companies who write this type of insurance, any number of companies can help you out.  I would recommend speak to whoever writes your auto insurance and they can recommend someone to you or more than likely write it themselves.
