Ok, I told you of this horrific event in the past, not to scare you, like a ghost story, but so you can keep your eyes open and not let this shiit happen again - cause these evil motives or passions can come up in people.  So don't be scared of the past, but keep your eyes open in the future.

For me the meaning of this would be...

Learn from the mistakes of your family--and serve that as an inspiration..rather than be scared and think that it happened to your family it might happen to you too..

It's like in marriage..some people are scared when they see some in their family failed in it...they would just assumed if they get married, it will also fail..

Try to correct their mistakes by avoiding what wrong they've done in the past..and use that as a base to start a new life...and make a difference for a change..

We must not live in fear as we got from the past but we must consider and face the possible consequences that will happen to the future.

So that the dignity(something that our ancestry had reached) would still be there and not wasted....?
