Is there any reason why halfworn sprockets cant just be reversed and get double the life - I dont mean badly worn/ hooked sprs . Only one side of the teeth are friction worn by the chain ?

  1. Not a good idea, the best practice is to replace sprockets and chain as a set. Worn sprockets  will kill the life of a new chain as will a worn chain on new sprockets.

  2. A badly worn sprocket will wear your chain out quicker. So its best if you replace them

  3. You can do it, but you won't double the life - as the sprockets wear, the teeth get shallower & thinner, and it's then only a matter of time before you get an expensive & painful failure.

  4. False economy mate. Just change them.

  5. you can but it will kill the chain in no time...its the chain that's damaged the sprockets...change the whole set as one...you don't want it snapping and blowing you ninee casings up...
