  1. Contacts will not make your eyes stable, but having lenses in all the time might help you not strain your eyes as much and cause them to work extra hard.

The nice thing about contacts is that you can order soft contacts to last you six months, four months, three months, two months and so if your eye sight does change you can update your RX and order more, where as glasses you order and you are stuck with most of the time a year to two years until your benifits allow you to get more glasses.

Maybe ask your dad if you and he can talk to your opthamologist or optomistrist about it, and see what they have to say about the contacts and your changing eyes. Also tell him you would like to be fitted so that you can see if you can even get them in.

In the mean time wash your hands and practice getting comfortable with your eyes because if you can't do that you will never be able to get contacts.

  2. Today just about everyone can wear contact lenses, and there are more healthful and convenient contact lens options than ever before. Contact lenses are used to correct the same conditions that eyeglasses correct. For all details,  information and remedies about contacts check out http://use-contactlens.blogspot.com/

  3. If your correction is between -4.00 and -4.75, you are a really good candidate for contact lenses.  Your vision will fluctuate and it's not unusual for the prescription to change from time to time.  You need to convince your dad that you will be responsible and adhere to the wearing schedule that your eye doctor recommends as well as promise to be dedicated in the care and cleaning of your lenses.  Your eye doctor will have the final word in whether or not you can successfully be fit with contacts  It really is nice to have contacts in addition to your glasses especially if you are active and participate in sports.  If you get them, take care of them and keep your eyes healthy by not overwearing your lenses or sharing them with anybody.  Wearing your contact lenses will help you see better.  They won't "stabilize" your vision unless the doctor fits you with gas permeable lenses.

  4. Your eyes don't need to be "stable" for contacts. With contacts you can also change your prescription every time you purchase a new supply with no extra cost except for the cost of the checkup, since you would be buying the contacts anyway, the prescription would not affect the price of the lenses. Your glasses on the other hand have to have new lenses made every time your prescription changes, and the glasses should usually last a year or two, but each change to your prescription will cost extra since the lenses did not last for that long.

Your dad may not want you to have contacts yet though. Depending on your age the doctor may also not want to fit you with contacts. You will also still need to have glasses for the times when you don't have your contacts in and in case your run out or need to leave them out of your eyes.

  5. Pretty sure the only requirement is that you have eyes.

You're eyesight won't ever really get "stable", it will just keep getting worse in most cases. Just get them and check with the doctor every 6 months to see if you need new prescriptions.

    Way better than glasses.

  6. The only person who can tell you if you're a candidate for contacts is your eye doctor. The doctor will examine the condition of your eyes and will be able to determine exactly what type of contacts are suitable for you.

Typically you do not have to wait for your eyesight to stabilize, since it will likely change as you grow and age. Contact prescriptions are usually updated every year, but maybe in your case, you may want to visit every 6 months for an exam. Still, it shouldn't hinder your ability to wear contacts.

Contacts will definitely not stabilize your vision, but I have a feeling you'll enjoy life without glasses. Contacts are a big commitment, however. I would advise you talk to your doctor about your options. Good luck!
