Research paper sources?

Question

Hello everyone! Well I have a research paper due later ( not any time soon ) and its on music. So i decided to pick my favorite band , but i also have to have all the sources stuff , like 2 books sources and internet. I can certainley do the internet but i was wondering if a magazine would count as a book source?

I graded papers for years (college level) and the two most frequent offenders I found, beside poor grammar and spelling,  were plagiarism and secondary sources.  If you are going to do research on a band you may have trouble. The subject may be a little shallow (sorry) but unless it is a well established band, there may not be enough information. Make sure you give credit for what research you find even if you think it was your idea. If you find it in a book, cite the reference. Also, do not use secondary sources, like magazines and newspapers for they often repeat what someone else said and are not valid sources. Find the original sources. Good luck...oh yes, your summary cannot contain any new material and your intro must intro all your points.
