where can i find a reliable source for wind turbine windmills that look like the traditional ones. modern ones are just to ugly

  1. 35 feet is about the bare minumum height to install a wind turbine, and that is assuming the turbine's height is taller than other structures within 250-300 ft.  

    If you really must have the old fashioned well-pump look, consider a newer turbine like the Skystream or a Bergey, but disguise it with a custom set of blades and perhaps a cover that pleases you.  If you do not use the modern blades, you can expect a lot less efficiency from any turbine.  Mike

  3. The efficient capture of wind energy requires a very special and smooth shape to the windmill. The appearance you want would greatly reduce the efficiency of the windmill, just like making a modern airliner look like an old biplane would reduce its efficiency. It is all about controlling air flow and that requires a shape dictated by aerodynamics and not appearance.
