hi there, i took my braces some months ago and i started using a retainer. but now when i've been to the dentist to check if everything is fine and he said that the front teeth moved a bit, so he adapted the retainer to move the teeth back. is this normal? to use a retainer as an orthodontic appliance? and now the thing is that I have the feeling that the teeth is moving back too much!.... should I go there or should I wait for the next appointment in two weeks?

  1. A retainer is an orthodontic device. It's normal for your teeth to move, or feel like they are moving. When I had my retainer after my braces, my teeth felt really different. The feeling that they are moving may just be from you getting used to the retainer. Or they may really be moving. I think you should just wait for the next appointment, unless you definitely notice a physical movement, more than what your dentist wanted. When you get there, tell the dentist what you feel and he may be able to reassure you or make any necessary changes. Hope this helps and good luck!
