Retreaving lost mail?

My friend sent me a confedorate flag from North carolina USA to me here in NSW Australia and it has been 9 days and no sign of it and it normaly takes 3-7 days so is there any way of still getting my flag? is it more likely it has been lost in australia or USA?

it could be that it is stuck in customs waiting for inspection

file a complaint to the mailing company through which your friend has sent the mail or inquire in the mailing office if it was sent through speed mail it should have reached if it is through the normal post then u might have to wait a little longer...
