...Is this an oxymoron, or can a right brained person succeed in science?

...

I'm highly right brained, so am I making a huge mistake by devoting the next two years of my life to a science research project/competition?

  1. If you are right "brained," you'll do find as a scientist. Right brain people are generally very creative and abstract in their thinking, hating concrete left brain linear thinking. You may have some problems with mathematics but that can be overcome.

If you are a scientist, you won't let either side of your brain hold you back. Go for it.

Oh yeah, both Einstein and Newton were both left-handed right brain thinkers.

  2. Forget which 'brain' you are.  I'm a 'right-brained' scientist and I know plenty of others.  And we are all good at research.  Science, especially research, takes a lot of creativity.
