  1. practice your blocking. if you can hang when you jump, practice showing a hole, then taking it away. also practice your single blocks. as a right side, you must be one of the best blockers on your team. also, if your right handed, practice hitting line. the best way for a right handed opposite to hit line, is to start your approach near the sideline so to hit line, you just go straight, and to hit angle, you hit cross body. practice hitting "d"'s to, because you are the right side hitter when the setter is front row. also practice setting the ball, because you are the back up setter. if you can bump set well, do that instead of risking a point by doubling the ball.

  2. Right side, weak side, opposite, it's all the same.

Work on blocking and penetration. You will often be matched up against the best hitters on the other side.

  3. well if you wanna get your vert up you have to work you legs THE BEST thing to get hops ( i think is go run on the beach) it works you ankles

i added 9 to 11 inches to mine i ran 3 times a week for a month about a mile

  4. 1st of all.....it is called a weak side hitter

but neway u shuld just practice

i mean if ur gonna wait til this summer y r u even asking this question?

  5. It's not called weak side anymore.  It's actually called Opposite.  As an opp you have a lot of responsibility.  One of them is hitting but more importantly you are the back up hands for the setter.  You've got to be able to set a clean ball anytime your setter is out of the play.  You are also going to be blocking against many of the other teams best hitter because you'll be lined up against the Outside Hitter.

I'd start talking to setters to make sure you've got good hands and then work on footwork for blocking and transitioning after the block.

  6. I am also a right side hitter. I have just swithced over from outside and middle. You are not the weak side. Trust me... I'm the go to along with my fellow right side on my club team. My coach keeps telling me to get my feet to the ball. If you're a lefty this is easier for you, since it's a lefty's side. I'm a righty so i have to work harder on getting my shoulders around the ball so I am open to hitting angle and line. Also, line is a good thing to learn how to hit. You can either tool it or go over the opposing blocker, especially if they're shorter. hehe good luck!

  7. run to stay in shape, like sprints, go to the weight room.
