  1. Usually the engagement ring is worn on the right ring finger & after the wedding bands/rings are exchanged it is placed on top of the wedding ring at an inconspicuous time.

  2. You dont have to.

Some people choose to. The wedding ring should be on before your engagement ring. Some people wear it on a different finger then change it after or give it to someone to hold on to for them until the ceremony is over.

  3. You can do whatever you wish... wear it then switch fingers while exchanging rings, don't wear it, wear it on your right hand the whole time.... it's all personal preference! ;)

I have actually worked it into the exchanging of rings section of our ceremony! My engagement ring will be with my wedding ring (best man will hold them until we exchange rings), and the minister is going to say something about the engagement ring being given to me by my fiance as a symbol of a promise, and now that we are wed, that promise is realized, so he will be asked to now place the engagement ring over (on the outside of) my wedding band, to act as a "protector" of my wedding band, and a forever symbol that his promise to always love me is forever realized.

My friend did this too! It's actually a really cool idea, because then you don't have to worry about switching rings from one finger to the other mid-ceremony, etc!

Whatever you decide will be just fine! Good luck!! :)

  4. yep but you wear it on your right hand that day, then after the ceremony, you put it back on your left hand, on top of your wedding band.

  5. I wore my engagement ring on my wedding finger the left hand.  We got married @ the Catholic Church. The groom placed my wedding ring on the outside of the engagement ring. I wanted to wear my engagement ring because it goes with the wedding ring and I will be wearing it together. I matched the rings so they look good together.  The next day I placed the wedding band on the inside of my finger and the engagement ring on the outside. The guests noticed both rings and I wanted to wear my engagement ring to the wedding otherwise I would have felt naked.

  6. Yes. For the ceremony put the engagement ring on the ring finger of the right hand and afterward switch it back to the left hand after the wedding ring is on.

Actually, on my wedding day my HB put my wedding ring on and before I gave him his ring he had taken my engagement ring off my right hand and had slipped it back on my left hand (this is not required, my husband wanted to do this).

  7. Yes, during the exchange of rings the bands are placed on the ring finger.

  8. It depends, there are a few ways to do it. The wedding band traditionally goes on the inside, closest to your heart. Some women wear the engagement ring and then switch it after the ceremony. Others wear it on the other hand (if it fits) or give it to someone they trust until after the ceremony. You could even leave it at home if you are worried about fiddling around with it.
